Alyssa Jones, New Parent Outreach Specialist 

Occupational Therapist

Alyssa Jones serves as the initial and primary point of contact for parents and caregivers who are expecting a child with Down syndrome or have a young child with Down syndrome between the ages of 0 and 2 years old. Alyssa holds a degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Human Development from Vanguard University and a certification in Nonprofit Management from the University of California, Irvine. She is a mother to two boys, and intimately understands the importance of community support for families affected by Down syndrome. She brings a rich background in childhood development, education, and the arts.

Care Notebooks

The My Care Notebook is a practical and personalized tool designed to help you stay organized, with space to track medical information, emergency contacts, educational resources, and local services—all customized with your child’s photo on the front cover.

Medical Journey Support

Our Medical Journey Support provides families with trusted, up-to-date care guidelines and vetted resources to help you navigate medical appointments, understand your child’s needs, and advocate with confidence.

Parent to Parent Program

Our Parent to Parent program connects you with a seasoned mentor parent who has walked a similar journey, offering understanding, encouragement, and real-life insight as you navigate life with a new Down syndrome diagnosis.

Follow-up Consultations

We provide ongoing follow-up consultations to support your family’s evolving needs, answer questions, and help you navigate each stage of your journey with confidence.

Music and Motion

Music and Motion is a fun, developmentally supportive class for babies, toddlers, and their caregivers, combining music, movement, and sensory play. Each session also offers time for parents to connect over coffee and conversation.

New Parent Breakfast

Our New Parent Breakfast is a warm, welcoming gathering where families who have recently received a Down syndrome diagnosis can connect with other parents, learn from and talk with a few parent mentors, and discover the support available to them.

Welcome Baby Basket

Our Welcome Baby Baskets are a heartfelt way to celebrate your little one—filled with meaningful gifts, helpful resources, and a warm message to remind you that you’re supported every step of the way. We personally deliver them to the hospital or your home, whenever you’re ready.

Welcome Visit

We offer personalized Welcome Visits either in your home or at our campus, providing a supportive space to ask questions, receive resources, and connect with a caring team member.
